hi. i can help. please tell me the address (the url) if the item and what you would like changed. if you just want the title on the page changed you can do that by clicking "Edit item" on the page, changing the title and clicking th e"submit" button at the bottom of the page. if you want to change the url address i would need to do that.

How very kind, even more so when after a decade at this machine I've never understood the term 'URL' far less how to change it. I will, though, study this information carefully. Meanwhile, if you could perhaps further oblige by altering the title 'THE RHINE 1997' to its proper 'LAKE GARDA 1998' that would be a vast help. It's under the Community Video with the name John C. Marshall'

All the way from a wet and windy UK, with sincere thanks John.

I really do apologise for what looks like further confusion but try as I might I can't get this film to appear anywhere other than when hitting on the address you quote on this response. No indication of it on the 'JOHN C MARSHALL index where the others all appear - or am I meant to do something to make that happen - and if the title is put into the main CV page it is said not to exist.

I can feel myself becomong a nuisance. Sorry

Splendid, especially as I assumed I'd pressed one of many wrong buttons. I really do very much appreciate the cooperation.

So I felt I'd learned enough yesterday to keep me out of your hair for a while ....... whereas this morning I find not only the 'NIAGARA' I thought had flopped but the replacement 'AT NIAGARA FALLS' was there as well. I'd altered to 'identifier' the second time around, as this seemed to be indicated as the thing to do, but they're the same item so, when you can find time, could you please erase the 'AT NIAGARA FALLS' version.

You show remarkable patience for a fresh faced kid.

And I promised to leave you alone for a while.

It's now close on three days since SORRENTO 1991 uploaded with a verified title etc but when I hit the 'SHARE' spot it vanished, completely, leaving no trace of any kind on the page. No big deal if it's now 'SAYONARA SORRENTO' but I thought you might like to be aware of some form of problem rather than have it out there among the stars somewhere, perhaps causing some kind of glitch in the system.

Mmmmmmmmmm.............so CAPRI 1991 uploaded perfectly with a verified identifier then, after the hit on Share another complete disappearence. I'm obviously following the rules, all too willing to accept it's a massive undertaking where things go wrong occasionally - but it would be good to know if I'm doing something wrong?

hi. i see this item http://archive.org/details/Capri1991

it seems to have uploaded just fine. you might want to try the beta uploader at http://archive.org/upload to see if that works better for your needs.

As none of the usual completion indicators showed up it gave the impression of not having worked, including some words telling me I'd used a title already in use. Glad to learn it did get through though - but can I say the installer you've pointed me at appears to be the one I've used throughout and what I took to be the sole way of uploading.

Thanks for the response and continuing patience.

Kind, my friend, doesn't begin to cover it. I've seen your name over the year but was unaware just how vital a cog it is.

Well no, much deep thinking later and following some kindly assistance from 'Quiggs'it now seems as if my Lake Garda movie has disappeared off the map. What I now need to know is can I re-enter it, this time properly (SUBMITTING WASN'T THE PROBLEM, ONLY THE TITLE ALTERATION)or is the previous one still drifting around out there in limbo, a phenomenon not all that unusual once you get past 80.

And I still don't know what URL means/does. Thanks.
